AEREA at The Shoe Factory makes a wonderful backdrop for any event type due to its unique style, size, compatibility, and parking onsite for upwards of 250 vehicles. Built in the early 1900’s as the Sydney Souter Silk Company, the core of The Shoe Factory is that original building. In the 1950’s it became Milton Shoe Manufacturing and around 1990 it was home to Kuhn’s Brothers Log Homes. We are happy to retain as much of the original look of these time periods.

The raw industrial aesthetic of our Industrial-Chic venue and high end log cabin/timber frame/barn/industrial feeling of our Rustic-Elegance venue affords you the flexibility to create a unique event and one which is more importantly, memorable.

Located within The Shoe Factory just an hour from Harrisburg, Wilkes-Barre, and State College, AEREA has retained the elements of its manufacturing past, showcasing original architectural features, exposed brick, crystal chandeliers, period industrial decor and historic, industry specific accents that will provide the perfect backdrop for any event. We would like to dispel the misconception that weddings have a specific season by mentioning that you can have that barn-esque wedding with us virtually any day of the year without worry of hot, cold, rain or wind ruining your special day because we have all of those bases covered.

Industrial-Chic and Rustic-Elegance are the names of our venues. At approximately 12,000 and 8,800 square feet, and capacities of 550 and 250 respectively, they can handle most any guest list. Such a perfect place to have a wedding or event! The owner, Greg, is amazing to work with, great prices, very communicative. We used the Rustic venue and new outdoor ceremony area. Outside, you can seat 100 people in beautiful wooden benches. Inside, the venue projects your name and wedding date in a style of your choosing , and set up a customized welcome sign.. Huge dance floor plus enough room for 150-175 people to sit and enjoy the day. Also used the bridal suite to get ready. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue. It was a picture perfect day! AEREA is such a unique beautiful space for any event! We recently had our wedding there and everything was perfect! We loooved the Rustic Chic venue from the first moment we saw it. Greg has such a great eye for creative details! It is an awesome alternative to the typical barn wedding many places offer nowadays. Greg was so helpful and flexible and worked so hard on our wedding day to make it special! My wife and I can’t recommend AEREA enough for any kind of event you might be planning! I had my wedding here on May 25th and it was absolutely beautiful! So many compliments from our guest! Greg is very easy to talk to whenever you have questions about the venue!
